Fixed Term Contract 30 hours per week – National Minimum Wage
An exciting opportunity has arisen out of the Teesside University and Middlesbrough Football Club partnership for a Teesside Sport Graduate to work within the Sport Science team at Middlesbrough Football Club’s Training Ground at Hurworth, Darlington on a fixed term contract from November 2022 – November 2023.
THE ROLE WILL BE TO:
Work with the Sport Science/Strength and Conditioning staff to help support the programme delivery across the Club.
Assist with the collection, downloading and reporting of data including GPS, HR, Wellbeing and RPE
Assist with physical and anthropometric measurements, including data collection, data storage, creating reports for players and staff, reporting back physical development, maturation data, growth rates and body composition
Assist with the delivery of strength and conditioning, individual on-field programmes and recovery sessions with delivery content adapted accordingly for different age groups.
Input on the players’ physical reviews as part of their 6/12 weekly review.
Be part of an internal CPD programme which will include attending and presenting on topics throughout the season
Assist with logging sessions, data and programmes on the PMA application in line with EPPP regulations
Work on match days, where necessary, conducting pre-match warm ups and post-match conditioning in line with recommendations from Academy Sport Science/S&C staff
Maintain strong links with the University and be active in attending and presenting at guest lectures under the guidance of MFC/Teesside University
Attend all meetings and in-service training relevant to your position
CANDIDATES SHOULD:
Be a graduate of Teesside University in a sports science or related undergraduate programme within the last 2 years.
Have a UK driver’s license or the ability to commute to Rockliffe Park Training Ground, Hurworth-on-Tees
Be flexible and willing to work unsociable hours and weekends
Be able to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be able to use a variety of methods of communication for different audiences
Have experience of teaching/coaching/working with children of varying ages
Be innovate with thinking and ideas
Be eligible to work in the UK
This role falls within the scope of ‘regulated activity’ and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974).
