Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (MFCF) is the Club’s independent charity of MFC established in 1996 by Club Chairperson, Steve Gibson. The Foundation uses the power of the MFC brand to engage with the community to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to maximise their potential to achieve.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved in a growing and passionate team within an award-winning charity. This role is based at various delivery locations within the Tees Valley area and will be responsible for the delivery of core programmes in primary schools including the Premier League funded primary school programme, Premier League Primary Stars; a nationally delivered programme engaging over 80% of schools nationwide, aimed to help primary school children to be active and develop essential life skills. There will also be support and delivery on other Foundation wide programmes such as Premier League Inspires and Premier League Kicks, as well as supporting our values and key themes of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), safeguarding, social action and impact to be embedded in all delivery.
DUTIES
Deliver a range of educational workshops, PE and sport provision in primary schools as well as breakfast/lunchtime/after-school provision and activities for teacher planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time cover.
Deliver a range of targeted interventions to children in primary schools
Support with the mentoring and support of young people engaged in secondary schools
Support with the delivery and facilitation of afternoon and evening provision in the local community related to social inclusion and employability
Engage in the planning and development of lessons/sessions in line with stakeholder frameworks.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive practices, adapting resources and engagements to ensure equal opportunities for all
Build trusted and reliable relationships as a role model for young people and vulnerable service users.
Be committed to applying and promoting safeguarding across the charity
Contribute to risk assessments and health and safety requirements
CANDIDATES MUST:
UKCC Level 1 Coaching qualification or equivalent (willing to work towards Level 2)
Experience of positive and effective behaviour management with challenging groups
Valid driving licence with business insurance, access to own transport to travel across Tees Valley as required. And eligible to work in the UK
A professional attitude and positive work ethic
Strong administrative, organisational and IT skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst also working independently
An understanding and passion for improving the ability, opportunity and dignity of disadvantaged people and under-represented groups or individuals in our communities
Experience in delivering workshops and sports provision within communities and schools
An excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding including principles, procedures and thresholds. A satisfactory enhanced DBS check will need to be completed.
Be flexible since hours of work will include some evenings and weekends including match days
