Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (MFCF) is the Club’s independent charity of MFC established in 1996 by Club Chairperson, Steve Gibson. The Foundation uses the power of the MFC brand to engage with the community to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to maximise their potential to achieve.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved in a growing and passionate team within an award-winning charity. In this role you will use the influence of sport to deliver positive change in the lives and behaviours of under-represented or vulnerable groups and individuals within the local community.
This role is based at the Herlingshaw Centre in Eston and at various delivery locations within the Tees Valley area and will work closely with the School Sport Coordinator and across both the Education and Social Inclusion teams. The role will primarily deliver the Premier League funded primary school programme, Premier League Primary Stars – a nationally delivered programme engaging over 80% of schools nationwide aimed to help primary school children to be active and develop essential life skills. There will also be support and delivery on other Foundation-wide programmes.
DUTIES
Deliver a range of educational workshops, PE and sport provision with primary schools
Deliver a range of workshops and targeted interventions to young people
Assist with the mentoring and support of young people engaged in Premier League Inspires and supporting with the delivery and facilitation of afternoon and evening provision in the local community
Engage in the planning and development of lessons and sessions in line with stakeholder frameworks
Contribute to the collection of data and other monitoring requirements
Build effective, positive and trusted relationships with key stakeholders and partner organisations and to be a role model for young people and vulnerable service users.
Be an active ambassador to promote equality, diversity and inclusion across the charity, positively challenge discrimination and be an advocate to promote change.
CANDIDATES MUST:
Hold a UKCC Level 1 Coaching qualification or equivalent (willing to work towards Level 2)
Have an understanding and passion for improving the ability, opportunity and dignity of disadvantaged people and under-represented groups or individuals in our communities
Be experienced in delivering educational workshops and sports provision within communities and school environments
Have an understanding of education and social inclusion and the issues facing children and young people (and adults) from disadvantaged communities and have a desire to make a difference to the lives of those participants.
Have an excellent understanding, high regard and be committed to promoting safeguarding, welfare, equality, diversity and inclusion and be able to apply this within a quality service delivery
Be experienced in working in the voluntary, community, education and/or sport sector
Understand how to measure impact, both qualitatively and quantitatively
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively towards achieving set KPIs and outcomes
Have strong administrative, organisational and IT skills
Be eligible to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence, with access to a vehicle since travel will be required within the Tees Valley area.
Be flexible since hours of work will include some evenings and potentially weekends on match days.
