Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (MFCF) is the Club’s independent charity of MFC established in 1996 by Club Chairperson, Steve Gibson. The Foundation uses the power of the MFC brand to engage with the community to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to maximise their potential to achieve.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved in a growing and passionate team within an award-winning charity. In this role you will use the influence of sport to deliver positive change in the lives and behaviours of under-represented or vulnerable groups and individuals within the local community. You will enhance opportunities for people with pan disabilities or special educational needs and disabilities. You will impact our communities and help create a more inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment for all.
Working closely with the School Sport Coordinator and based at the Herlingshaw Centre in Eston, the role will be responsible for the delivery of PE/sport lessons in primary schools across Tees Valley, with a specific focus on achieving numeracy, literacy and PSHE outcomes via targeted interventions and activities.
DUTIES
Deliver a range of PE and sport provision with primary schools, as well as educational workshops and targeted intervention in line with the national curriculum and Premier League Primary Stars framework
Deliver and facilitate evening provision in the local community
Mentor and support young people as they transition from primary to secondary school
Lead on regular data collection, monitoring, reviewing and evaluation of all delivery and reporting as appropriate to specific deadlines
Build effective, positive and trusted relationships with key stakeholders and partner organisations and to be a role model for young people and vulnerable service users.
Be an active ambassador to promote equality, diversity and inclusion across the charity, positively challenge discrimination and be an advocate to promote change.
CANDIDATES MUST:
Hold a UKCC Level 2 Coaching qualification or equivalent
Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the challenges facing disadvantaged people and under-represented groups or individuals in our communities and be able to develop and deliver appropriate, innovative and engaging workshops and sports provision.
Have an excellent understanding, high regard and be committed to promoting safeguarding, welfare, equality, diversity and inclusion and be able to apply this within a quality service delivery
Be experienced in working in the voluntary, community, education and/or sport sector
Understand how to measure impact, both qualitatively and quantitatively
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively towards achieving set KPIs and outcomes
Hold a Level 1 sports coaching qualification from a recognised NGB (and willingness to develop)
Have strong administrative, organisational and IT skills
Hold a full UK driving licence, with access to a vehicle and be eligible to work in the UK
Be flexible since hours of work will include some evenings and potentially weekends on match days.
