Summary
The Principal Screening and Immunisation Manager has a key leadership role within the screening and immunisation team embedded in the NHS England and Improvement regional team. They are responsible for screening and immunisation system leadership, provision of specialist public health advice at relevant points in the commissioning cycle and specifically for supporting the effective and efficient commissioning of all screening and immunisation programmes on behalf of the NHS England and Improvement regional team.
Job description
The postholder will lead on the monitoring, surveillance, governance and improving the quality and uptake of screening and immunisation programmes at a local, regional and national level in partnership with Public Health England colleagues including Health Protection teams, Epidemiologists and Screening Quality and Assurance teams. They will actively engage with the strategic work of the Integrated Public Health Commissioning team, deputising for the Screening and Immunisation Lead and NHS England Heads of Public Health Commissioning where appropriate, and lead and coordinate defined complex areas of work including regional and national workstreams as agreed with the Screening and Immunisation Lead.
Responsibilities
The postholder will work across complex systems, building and managing a wide range of stakeholder relationships and partnerships to coordinate a safe system for the commissioning and delivery of local screening and immunisation services keeping the ‘patient’ at the centre and addressing local inequalities and variations
The post holder may be expected to work across regional sites, providing leadership and development to the service.
