Salary: £23,000 – £26,625 (Grade C). New appointments are typically made at the bottom of the scale.
Full-time: 37 hours per week

Location: County Durham Sport Offices, however you will be required to travel within County Durham and occasionally regionally. County Durham Sport has a Hybrid Working Policy in place.

The Community Development Officer (People) will be responsible for working with local communities to develop the skills, competence and confidence of local people to help to increase participation in physical activity and sport by providing better and more inclusive experiences.
The Community Development Officer (Place) will be responsible for supporting County Durham Sport’s vision and mission to remove the barriers to moving by challenging inequalities and supporting community engagement through a place based approach.
The successful candidates will be passionate about the impact sport and physical activity can have, particularly on those that find it most difficult to be active. The postholders will be committed to working in partnership to address, challenge and reduce these inequalities.
Qualifications and Experience:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Community Development, Community Engagement, Sports Development or related field.
Experience to include:
working with communities to understand need and develop solutions and interventions.
brokering relationships and developing community led interventions.
using insight and data to develop and drive evidence-based practice.
monitoring and evaluation
Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and partners.
A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of work
Excellent communication, organisation and planning skills
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
