Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (MFCF) is the Club’s independent charity of MFC established in 1996 by Club Chairperson, Steve Gibson. The Foundation uses the power of the MFC brand to engage with the community to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to maximise their potential to achieve.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be involved in MFCF community delivery within East Cleveland. In particular the role will coach on the Premier League funded programme, Premier League Kicks – a world-class programme that uses the appeal of the Premier League and MFCF to engage and inspire young people and to deliver positive change in the lives and behaviours of under-represented, vulnerable groups/individuals and those at risk in high-need areas, with specific focus on supporting community football, multi-sport and educational sessions.
THE ROLE
To deliver football and multi-sports activity within East Cleveland and potentially wider parts of the Tees Valley area
Support in the delivery of educational workshops within the community.
Lead groups of young people to attend tournaments, experience days and events throughout the year as required
Adapt sessions to the needs of participants and offer any additional support they may require.
Undertake regular data collection (registers and surveys) at sessions
Build trusted and reliable relationships as a role model for young people and vulnerable service users.
Work with the Community Officer to input into risk assessments, health and safety and safeguarding
Promote the vision, mission and core values of MFCF and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as promoting change and positively challenging discrimination
CANDIDATES SHOULD:
Have experience in delivering educational workshops and sports provision within disadvantaged communities
Hold a minimum of Level 1 sports coaching qualification from a recognised NGB or equivalent experience
Have a good level of understanding of social inclusion and the issues facing young people from disadvantaged communities and have a desire to make a difference to the lives of those young people
Possess a high regard, knowledge and understanding of good safeguarding practices
Be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong administrative, organisational and IT skills
Be flexible since working evenings and weekends will be required where applicable
Be eligible to work in the UK and have a full driving licence with access to own vehicle
