Gisborough Hall, Whitby Lane, Guisborough, TS14 6PT

Nomination forms are available here – please complete then simply click the submit button. You will then receive an automatic acknowledgement that we have received your submission.
Closing date for submission of your nominations will be midnight on Sunday 26th April 2020.
To be eligible for these awards the volunteer must either volunteer in Redcar & Cleveland or live in the Redcar & Cleveland area.

There are 8 categories to which you can nominate your group or individual volunteer and they will be judged from 1 – 5 using the following criteria:

·         Commitment
·         Attitude
·         Made a Difference
·         Role Model

The task of choosing a winner from the many amazing nominations we receive every year is difficult and the decision of the judges can only be guided by the bio you write – so please keep this criteria in mind when writing about your group or individual.

Please note: the person you nominate does not necessarily have to belong to a formal voluntary/community group – they could be that un-sung hero who quietly makes a substantial contribution to a community/environment, and has, as yet, gone unrecognised.  We want to celebrate these people and recognise their contribution.  Every person nominated will receive a certificate of recognition with those shortlisted receiving an invite to afternoon tea at Gisborough Hall.

Mover & Shaker Award sponsored by “You’ve Got This”
This award is to recognise the efforts of someone who has inspired, enabled or supported people to become more active.  This does not necessarily have to be from a traditional sports aspect.

Health & Wellbeing Award sponsored by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council
A group or individual who has had a direct effect on the physical/mental health or lifestyle of residents in the community.  This could include befriending, sports, health support groups etc.

Innovation/Enterprise Award sponsored by UKSE
An individual or group who have demonstrated innovative approaches or enterprise in tackling an issue within their community.  Innovation can be defined simply as a “new idea, device or method” the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated or existing needs.  This award could apply to a charity shop team who have used innovative ways of producing displays perhaps.

Outstanding Community Group Award sponsored by Redcar & Cleveland College
A group or team who have dedicated years of effective service to the sustainability of the community or project they are passionate about.

Outstanding Trustee Award sponsored by Sembcorp Energy UK
Trustees are the unseen volunteers without which no charity could exist.  The role of a trustee is to set the direction of the charity and to ensure that the charity doesn’t drift away from the reason it was set up.  They provide critical friend advice to staff and volunteers whilst also keeping organisations grounded.  An outstanding trustee is dedicated to their charity and champions the cause at every opportunity.

RCVDA Lifetime Achievement
A person who has dedicated years of effective service to the community or project they are passionate about.  This person will have made a significant impact over their lifetime or over a number of years.

Volunteer of the Year 2020 Award sponsored by Sabic UK
A person who has gone “above and beyond” over the last year.  This could be the amount of time they have dedicated to their particular project and/or they have made a significant difference to another person’s life or to their community as a whole.

Young Volunteer Award (under 21) sponsored by Darlington Building Society
Do you know of a young person or team of young people who exemplify all that is good in our youth for example inter-generational initiatives, representation of young people, involvement in their community etc.?

If you know someone who has devoted their time to volunteering, someone or group who has helped the local community, someone who has cared for others, or just someone who is uplifting and makes a difference – nominate them today!
