The Students’ Union represents all of the students of Teesside University and provides a range of services for its 20,000 student members who rank it in the UK Top 10%. They are a registered charity with an annual income of £3 million, nearly 300 staff and 800 volunteers and operate a wide range of services for students including:
• Social spaces, meeting rooms, and training spaces for students
• SU Student Support – advice and advocacy on finances, housing and academic issues
• SU Activities with over 60 student clubs and societies led by student volunteers and a range of other activities including a jobs service
• The Terrace bar, The Hub venue, and the SU Shop
As sport and physical activity returns to University campuses, we are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised and passionate advocate of the benefit of sports clubs in Higher Education for the position of Club Development Coordinator with Teesside University Students’ Union. The successful candidate will work with student volunteers, coaches/instructors, University staff and our local partnership clubs to drive the performance of our clubs as well as ensuring that students participate in and understand the physical health, mental health and university experience benefits of sporting activity.
The successful candidate will also provide a high level of organisation and coordination being responsible for supporting club committees and their personal and professional development, liaising with coaches/instructors to ensure the sporting needs of the club are met, maintaining and developing strong relationships with partnership clubs across the Tees Valley and arranging logistics for the British Universities and College Sport and local league programmes.
