We are seeking Directors to join our Board. The positions are voluntary and in the role you will contribute at a strategic level advocating the power of sport and physical activity to individuals and communities across the Tees Valley. Appointments will be for a period of four years.
Established in 1999 Tees Valley Sport is an independent, non-profit organisation hosted by Teesside University in Middlesbrough. We are members of a national network of 43 Active Partnerships working together to increase participation in sport and physical activity. Active Partnerships have become a significant part of the sport and physical activity landscape across England, and with the national strategy increasingly adopting a whole system, placed-based approach the need for and value of our network has never been greater.
We deliver national and local contracts and programmes, attract investment into the Tees Valley helping to grow and sustain our community sport infrastructure, support and celebrate our talented and dedicated young sports performers and unlock the potential of sport to deliver a wide range of health, economic and social outcomes.
To help us achieve our ambitions, we want to extend the diversity of the Board to better reflect the full range of people we seek to serve across the Tees Valley. We would particularly like to hear from people with energy, enthusiasm and new ideas from different perspectives, who feel that they could make a contribution to the board in any of the following areas:
Increasing physical activity
Reducing inactivity
Narrowing inequalities
Improving young people’s experiences
