TFM Radio Cash for Kids want to help you make a difference in our region with our Summer Sports Challenge. The charity have over £25,000 to grant back to sports clubs in the TFM Radio’s transmission area that are focussed on supporting disadvantaged children by keeping them active during the school holidays and providing a packed lunch!
So are you a Teesside sports group in need of funding? If you are based in deprived area and help disadvantaged children, we want to hear from you. Simply complete the application form below and if you’re successful Cash for Kids will be in touch.
10 groups in total will be chosen and then given just over three weeks to fundraise as much money as they can during May. Cash for Kids will then match fundraising up to £2,500!
If you’re one of our highest fundraisers, you’ll receive even more! The group that raises the most money will be rewarded with a grant of £2,500 (in addition to what each group has raised). So if you’re the highest fundraising group and have, for example, raised £4,000 you’ll be granted back £9,000!
We’ll also be granting an additional £500 each to the group with the best social media interaction, the group who gains the most PR exposure, the group that has the most creative fundraising idea and the group that illustrates the best team work.
As well as keeping children active, each group must provide a cold packed lunch as part of the sessions including – at minimum – a sandwich, piece of fruit, yoghurt and bottle of water. This is not about kids having the latest football boots, tennis racquets or most up to date strips. The challenge is about kids not being able to afford to take part in local sports and tackling the issue of holiday hunger. All applications will be judged by the panel on how they aim to make a difference to disadvantaged children under 18 in their area.
If you are selected as one of our final 10 groups, the fundraising period will run between Friday, 3rd May and Tuesday, 28th May 2019 and all groups will be required to attend a briefing at Cash for Kids Head Office Friday, 3rd May. Every finalist group will be provided with their own online fundraising page and support with their activities so you won’t be going it alone.
