Natalie is working alongside our partners and local communities to develop an evaluation framework for a number of projects across the Tees Valley. In addition to her work with TVS, she also works on a number of other research projects within the School of Social Sciences and Law at Teesside University. These include coproduction evaluations with Durham County Councils Public Health team; an NIHR funded study within Durham Prison looking at Alcohol Brief Interventions with prisoners, and evaluating the first phase of the Sport England Local Delivery Pilot in South Tees (Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland).
She has recently completed a postdoctoral degree at Durham University, with her thesis looking at the impact of community gardening on health and wellbeing. Away from the day job, Natalie has played netball for a number of years, representing the North East with Team Northumbria in the National Super League. Although the competitive trainers have retired, Natalie is still involved with coaching; overseeing the community netball programme at Sunderland University, and working with her home club, Oaksway. Future sporting ambitions lie within triathlon, with Natalie hoping to complete an Ironman in 2019 with her club, Sun City Tri.
