Tennis for free comes to Middlesbrough’s Albert Park

Tennis for free comes to Middlesbrough’s Albert Park back to News

The weekly sessions are coach-led and suitable for the whole family aged from three years and over.

With each session combining a different mixture of fun drills, mass participation games and free play every week, those taking part can learn new skills, develop their tennis, have lots of fun and use the opportunity to spend time and get active together with family and friends old and new.

There’s no need to bring any equipment – it is all provided, it doesn’t matter if you have never played before, it’s all about getting together, having fun and building tennis communities right across the country.

Saturdays at Albert Park

• 10am – 11am Free coached session

• 11am – 11.30am Open play for all

Speaking about the weekend, Tennis For Free chairman Patrick Hollwey said: “By hosting the Big Tennis Weekend, we are reaching out to all communities to come and give us a try.

“We work with local councils, community groups and the LTA to make sure we reach those that otherwise wouldn’t get the opportunity to play.

“The Big Tennis Weekend is all about getting people from right across their community out into their parks and having fun, making new friends and hitting lots of balls, giving people the opportunity to mix together, get some exercise and use their park facilities all for free.

“Let’s make this into the biggest weekend of parks tennis this country has ever seen – come down to Albert Park to see what it’s all about!”
