On Saturday 19th October, Future Champions, Eve and Rachel Jackson, competed in the Vestlands Cup in Norway with a 17 strong Squad from England.
Rachel and Eve competed in the U/57kg category of the U/18 Cadets, U/21 Junior Women and Senior Women’s events. Eve began the day by taking the gold medal in the Junior Women’s U/21’s defeating the Norwegian No.1 and also her twin sister Rachel who won the silver medal.
Next they both competed in the U/18 Cadets with honours. Rachel won the gold medal after an epic 16 minute final fight against Eve who had to settle for the silver medal on this occasion.
Finally they competed in the Senior Women’s with Rachel finishing runner-up to the Norwegian Champion and Eve winning the Bronze medal.
On day two they attended an International training camp run by Olympic Bronze medallist Neil Eckersley and the Norwegian Coaches.
Brother, Joseph also had an excellent day; fighting up to U/60kg he won a gold medal in the Senior Men’s event followed by another gold medal in the Cadet Boys U/18’s. He then competed in the Junior Men’s U/21’s winning a silver medal.
