The Active Together initiative is Sport England’s Crowdfunding initiative in direct response to COVID-19 and is open for applications. They will match up to £10,000 towards a successful campaign (fee-free for the duration of this crisis), with many successful campaigns now live on the home page:

So far they have supported over 100 projects and committed just over one third of the £1m budget. As well as a financial pledge from Sport England, they are also providing a package of support to organisations considering a crowdfunding campaign; please see the information below and the attached quick guide document.
WEBINAR
The next webinar is on Thursday, 13th August, 11-11.30am. It is a free, 30 minute session, designed to be interactive and very much an introduction to crowdfunding. People can register here to attend. It will be recorded and can be played back afterwards, but people need to sign up first in order to receive this link.

COURSES
Crowdfunder have created some simple online courses which people can complete for free. Fairly quick and easy to complete, they mainly consist of videos and some check-and-challenge questions at the end. They take the viewer on a journey through crowdfunding, from an introduction, to planning and to running a campaign.

CROWDFUND SPORT
We have also tasked Crowdfunder to create a dedicated Crowdfund Sport page, with case studies, other extra funders for sport (like British Cycling) and links to all of the supporting resource (webinars, courses) available.

We have the attached guidance document which gives a snapshot of ideas on setting up a crowdfunding campaign page, specifically for the sports sector and showcases examples of projects we have supported already under this initiative. It also includes links to all of the aforementioned resource.
