Description:   Students Union

Teesside University students union are offering an exciting opportunity for a talented and professional individual to play an integral role in developing players and input into coaching provision for our women’s basketball team.   

The successful applicant will be head coach for the Teesside University women’s basketball team and be responsible for training provision and match day responsibilities. 

Reporting to the Students Union the primary roles will be to:

  • Develop players in the Basketball Club through coaching training sessions and supporting match day provisions
  • Work as part of a team with support staff
  • Assist the University’s Students Union to identify talented local players to feed into the club.

Person Specification:


Essential

  • Basketball England Level 1 Coaching Award
  • First Aid qualification
  • Available for Wednesday afternoon matches
  • Flexibility on Monday, Friday and Sunday evenings for training
  • Experience of coaching Basketball
  • Experience of developing players
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • An ability to motivate
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team

 Desirable

  • Level 2 Coaching Award
  • A working knowledge of sports science / strength and conditioning in relation to basketball performance
