StreetGames Coordinator Profile
"Hi, my name is Sarah Stephenson and I am the StreetGames Coordinator for the
StreetGames is a new national charity, established in 2006, to help promote sport and physical activity for young people living within disadvantaged communities.
Our main aim is to deliver sport and physical activity to young people where they want it, when they want it and in a style and format to suit their needs.
Activities like football, basketball, street dance, cricket and many more will be delivered to the doorstep of young people who are not members of sports clubs and are waiting for the opportunity to join in.
Sport is missing the talent of vast numbers of people, especially those who live in deprived communities. Together we can utilise StreetGames to help find the talent of tomorrow and provide a more positive future for youngsters.
Research has shown that sport can contribute to making communities safer and stronger and encourage healthy lifestyles. It can improve the quality of life for individuals, developing their skills and confidence. This in turn helps improve the quality of life in their community, building strong community networks and a sense of ownership and social responsibility."
