Rugby Union
Rugby union is a full contact team sport, a form of football which originated in England in the early 19th century. One of the codes of rugby football, it is based on running with the ball in hand. It is played with an oval-shaped ball, outdoors on a level field, usually with a grass surface, 100 m long and 70 m wide. At each end of the field is an H-shaped goal. It is one of the most popular sports in the world, being played in over a hundred countries, on every continent.
Please see below a poster advertising beach touch rugby summer programme. If you would like to enter with your team mates, some colleagues from work, or perhaps some friends from the pub, please follow the joining instructions on the poster.

The Choose Rugby campaign has been designed with recruitment in mind, based on this year's world cup initially, leading to the very exciting 2015 Rugby World Cup here in England. With a full pool expected to be based in the North East at St James' Park we are looking to build momentum from now, through both world cups, and beyond.
