North East Rugby League will be holding a 13 a side match officials course on the following date;
- 6th November 2011, 9.15am - 4.15pm @ Gateshead College Building, Gateshead International Stadium Neilson Road, Gateshead, NE10 0EF.
The course is free and once qualified match officials are paid £15 per junior fixture and £25 for adult games.

On Saturday 19th June 2010 Hartlepool Hurricanes played their first Rugby League fixture against Wallsend Eagles at Benfield playing fields.
The brand new under 15's side have so far only had one official Rugby League training session; however they were extremely keen to get playing as soon as possible and therefore were not put off by taking on a strong Wallsend Eagles side.
Hartlepool will continue to play friendlies throughout the 2010 season and will be taking part in the Cup Competition; all with the aim of them joining the North East u16's League in the 2011 season. Training will continue this week and Hartlepool will be up against Durham Tigers on Saturday 26th June in their first competitive fixture.
Although Wallsend Eagles ran out comfortable winners on Saturday Michael Stockman (Wallsend, Coach) stated 'although the game finished in Wallsend's favour the score however does not reflect the quality of the Hartlepool's game and potential of their team.'
John Gray, Regional Development Officer stated "Hartlepool players should take great heart from their first ever game of rugby league. They matched Wallsend for large portions of the game & it was only the obvious organization of the Eagles that swayed the game in their favor. I am certain with a few more training sessions under their belts they will be a very good team who will be difficult to play against as they have some very skillful & quick players in their team".
Training
The RFL would like to announce 2 UKCC Coaching Courses which will take place over the autumn months. The first is a UKCC Level 1 course at East Durham College on 3rd September & 2nd October. The second is a UKCC Level 2 course at Longbenton Community College on 15th & 16th October, 13th & 27th November. Please contact North East Talent Coach, Robin Peers for more information. Cost: £190 (£70 returned upon completion of the course)
Closing Date: Friday 2nd September
