Sport Makers
Whether it's planning the route, finding the pitch or encouraging people to take part - sport doesn't just happen, it needs people to make it happen. Become one of 40,000 Sport Makers and you'll not only get the skills, knowledge and opportunities you need to get more people playing sport, you'll become part of the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sports legacy.
Sport Makers is aimed at people new to sports volunteering. It could be a great opportunity for new volunteers or parents at a sports club who would like to become active volunteers. Sport Maker recruits will have a positive and inspiring introduction to the world of sport volunteering through an initial workshop delivered locally by a training provider in conjunction with Tees Valley Sport. We are also working with our partners to see how we can help Sport Makers gain coaching qualifications and access other training.
Volunteers play a crucial role in sports clubs and in community groups across the Tees Valley. We would like to recruit volunteers who have an interest in sport and we will be able to help you find voluntary work in your community. Volunteering is a great way to have fun, meet new people, learn new skills and put something back into your community.
Becoming a Sport Maker takes 3 simple steps;
