PE and school sport CPD
Professional learning opportunities for teachers, non-teaching staff, volunteers and coaches working in and with schools are provided by a range of local and national agencies. Professional learning – or continuous professional development (CPD) – may include training courses, conferences, networking, mentoring and co-coaching.
The Government and national partners are keen to ensure the Primary PE and Sport Premium is used to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of school staff and volunteers so that the funding has a long-term impact on teaching and learning.

Local providers of professional learning
The local school sport partnership/ cluster managers provide and/or co-ordinate CPD programmes for their areas. In addition, a number of local partners also provide CPD. For further information, see local partners’ support.
