This section is for individuals for need financial support to increase their sporting potential.

Pursuit of Excellence Fund

The Pursuit of Excellence Fund awards grants of up to £1,000 for young people aged 12 to 24 years and resident in the unitary authorities of Darlington, Hartlepool, Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough and Stockton on Tees, who are excelling in their chosen sport and are in need of financial assistance to help them to achieve their aims.  The funding will target the 44 sports funded through Sport England on the basis of their ability to increase the number of people playing and enjoying sport, and the creation of development pathways for those with talent.


 Future Sport

Future Sport is a charity dedicated to supporting young people and assisting their progress in sport in North East England. Focusing on the grass roots, Future Sport raises money in order to offer grants to promising youngsters from a wide variety of backgrounds particularly targeting the socially and economically disadvantaged, whatever sport they participate in.


Enable Sport Programme - Caudwell Children

The "Enable Sport" programme has been launched by Caudwell Children, in partnership with Barclays Wealth, to fund adapted sports equipment for gifted and talented disabled children age 18 and under participating in competitive sport.


Torch Trophy Trust Bursaries

The aim of the Bursaries is to help volunteers to improve their skills as coaches or officials but are unable to do so without funding. The Bursaries provide financial support for those wishing to undertake training.


Nancy Ovens Trust

The bursary, sponsored by SkillsActive and awarded by the Nancy Ovens Trust, is aimed at paid or voluntary coaches and leaders who work with children and young people in the active leisure and learning sector. The bursary is awarded to a coach or leader to allow them to enhance their own skills and knowledge by taking part in studies or activities outside of their community.


Dickie Bird Foundation

The vision of the Foundation is to assist young people under 18 years of age to participate, to the best of their ability, in the sport of their choice irrespective of their social circumstances, culture or ethnicity, and to ensure that, in doing so, they improve their chances both inside and outside sport.


Tony Blair Foundation

The Foundation will pay 50% of the cost of a Level 1 coaching or officiating qualification and will then work with you to find a suitable coaching placement within your community.


Tees Valley Community Foundation (Individuals)

Tees Valley Foundation is delighted to host a number of bursaries for individuals to support a variety of endeavours from education, sport to the performing arts.


Adam Millichip Foundation

To provide financial support and assistance to disabled people who wish to participate in sports, with the aim of improving the quality of their lives.


Disability Sport Development Trust - Dream It Believe It Achieve It

Established in 2010, Dream It Believe It Achieve It (DBA) recognises that athletic greatness inherent in all people with physical disabilities and supports their athletic endeavours by providing grants for training, competition and equipment needs.


Get Kids Going!

National charity which provides disbled children and young people up to 26 years with the funding for specialist sports wheelchairs to enable them to participate in disability sports.


 Rob George Foundation

The Rob George Foundation makes grants up to £3000 to young people who demonstrate exceptional commitment and/or ability in sport or the performing arts but may be held back by their financial situation from pursuing their goals.
