The Playwork Profession Workforce Development Conference

You are invited to attend the above Conference which will be taking place in the North East Region on Wednesday 17 November 2010.
The Conference will be of interest to all those working in the children's sector, particularly Playwork, related sectors and also those considering a change of career into Playwork - and specifically those who have responsibility for staff training and workforce development and leadership and management development. The conference will also be of value to training providers, further education and higher education establishments, commissioners of services and Ofsted Inspectors and many others.
The objectives of the conference are-
• To raise the profile of Playwork as a profession and develop a better understanding of it's culture and the focus on the child
• To emphasise the importance of workforce development in the Playwork sector
• To enable Brokers and other careers influencers to improve their understanding of the Playwork profession and sector
• To update on the career structure and qualifications route for Playworkers
• To enable Playwork employers and training providers to develop models of good practice
• To introduce the Playwork profession and career opportunities available to those considering entering the profession or those in other sectors seeking a career change.
These events will provide an opportunity to talk directly with our sector, bring everyone up to date with the work of SkillsActive and recent developments and raise the awareness of the profession of Playwork, the career route and training and qualifications required. Through keynote speakers, workshops and debate and discussion groups the following subjects and issues will be addressed.

There will also be time for networking and a chance to visit some exhibition stands.
