Tees Valley Olympic and Paralympic Games Logo Competition

As part of the Tees Valley Action Plan for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Tees Valley Working Group have developed a competition to design a logo for the Olympic and Paralympic Games legacy in the Tees Valley.

We want to use the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to inspire more people to take part in sport in the Tees Valley and as such we would like to create a Tees Valley Olympic and Paralympic Brand that captures the imagination of all people in the Tees Valley and encourages them to take part in sport, develop their skills and where they have potential to represent the Tees Valley or even their country in their sporting life.

Full details on the competition and the entry form can be found attached below.

We want our partners and other interested parties in the Tees Valley to use the winning logo when organising and running any activity that will get people in the Tees Valley active whether that be in sport or physical activity. We think the logo will be used significantly and will have a very high profile in the lead up to 2012. We hope to gain lots of positive publicity in the local media for the winner of the competition, this will naturally include a reference to the school / organisation where the entry comes from.

Examples of events that will use the winning logo are:-

  • The Tees Valley Partnership Youth Games
  • The Darlington Community Games
  • Playground to Podium Athlete Assessment Centres (talent identification for disabled people)

Gift vouchers will be awarded to the local winners and the overall Tees Valley winner will be able to choose between an iPod touch or a digital camera of an equivalent value.

The closing date for the competition is 31st March 2010.
