StreetGames Tennis Workshops (Free of Charge)

StreetGames and the LTA are delighted to announce that a new workshop will be running for StreetGames coaches and leaders who currently deliver sport to disadvantaged young people. Experience doesn't matter - you may be a new Volunteer Assistant or an experienced Level 2 Coach. The workshop will be very practical, giving you lots of ideas of how to make tennis fun and interesting for this target market, often in less than adequate facilities.

Friday 27th May 10am until 1pm North East (Sunderland Tennis Centre)

The workshops will cover three main topics;1) Tennis Freestyle,2) touchtennis and 3) links with existing coaches, programmes and places to play. The local Tennis Development Manager will also be in attendance; the TDM is a great resource to tap into, as they have local knowledge of tennis activity and a whole host of other resources, ideas and guidance to support ongoing activity.

The workshop will last 3 hours and will cover everything from using the equipment in the kit bag, setting up courts and running simple competition to working with local clubs and parks to set up some exit routes and progression for those who are keen to do more. Each person attending will get a certificate of attendance, a resource pack, and there will be a bag of tennis equipment for each StreetGames (StreetMark) project. There are 30 spaces on each workshop - first come, first served.

In order to book your space(s), please email abbie.lench@LTA.org.uk confirming the name, role, StreetGames project name, contact email, phone number, the workshop venue and the number of spaces required.
