Sport Unlimited Spring Term Report

Sport Unlimited

The final national term report prepare by the Sport Industry Research Centre (SIRC) reflected the overall success of the programme in exceeding its participation and retention targets. Reflecting the performance and commitment of local partners it was particularly pleasing to note in the report, that the Partnership achieved one of the highest retention rates in the country.

The final set of figures signify the biggest term of delivery of the whole of the Sport Unlimited programme, with over 207,620 young people engaged in activity nationally and 175,500 (84.5%) of these retained. This retain figure is over 16,000 higher than the autumn term (2010) which was previously the most successful term of Sport Unlimited. The overall retain figure across the three-year programme has reached 960,938 young people, which means that the overall retain target of 900,000 young people by the end of the spring term 2011 has been exceeded by almost 7%. This is a fantastic achievement from all those involved in the programme.
