On the Ball; essential ball skills for netball workshop
England Netball will be holding an On the Ball: Essential Ball Skills for Netball workshop in South Durham & Cleveland.
This workshop focuses on catching and passing skills, observation and analysis of technique and practice design in relation to the development of ball skills.
By the end of the workshop a coach should be able to:
- Identify practices to develop ball handling skills
- Identify and describe correct passing and catching technique
- Identify the difference between random, variable and blocked practices
- Understand how different practice design influences player development
- Define the decisions required by players when receiving and passing
- Identify the physical impact of practices on players
- Observe skills in action with the aim of detecting strengths and areas for improvement
Please note that this is a practical workshop and may require coaches to participate in some activities, it is therefore advisable to ensure appropriate clothing and footwear is worn.
