Coaching Disabled Participants

If you have a Level 2 (or above) coaching qualification and would like to coach disabled participants please click here.

Player Pathways

We will be looking to support any sports clubs which would like to work towards recruiting members who have disabilities and becoming an inclusive club. We would also like to further the work done within the Sportsability clubs to create strong links with sports specific clubs to provide sessions and pathways for individuals to take a more active role within their chosen sports.

Adapt Your Game Training

The current 'Adapt your Game' training will be reviewed and hopefully evolve to take on board comments by previous participants to provide a tool to encourage clubs and coaches to create inclusive sessions and clubs.

Leadership Training Resource

The English Federation of Disability Sport has been working in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust through the East Midlands led project; Inspire to Lead in the production of a good practice guide - ''Developing young disabled people through sports leadership and volunteering'. This resource is aimed at those responsible for the development of sports leadership and volunteering opportunities. To download your copy click here.

Free online training for volunteers to support disabled participants

The Advocacy and and Activity Buddy Scheme aims to increase the number of disabled people participating in sport or physical activity through the use of trained volunteers. Please click here for more information.

These are just some of our main areas of work and we are keen to deliver what is actually needed across the area and would welcome any ideas that can drive disability sport forward across the Tees Valley.
