Tees Valley Coaching Group
Coach Development Manager, Victoria Auton will be managing the development of the Tees Valley Coaching Group which will consist of a range of key partners who have a common interest and are committed to enhancing our coaching systems in response to the needs of local, regional and national partners. Guided by the UK Coaching Framework, the Tees Valley Coaching group will benefit coaching and partners by:
• Supporting the delivery of National Governing Body coaching priorities by helping to align national, regional and local priorities and needs more effectively
• Improving co-ordination of approaches to coach recruitment, development, deployment and retention
• Improving communication and networking across and between partners
• Sharing skills, knowledge, projects and resources between partners
• Maximising the impact of investment into coaching by co-ordinating resources and ensuring a needs led approach to use of funding
• Aligning the support of key partners to meet the needs of coaching and coaches
• Having a skilled professional infrastructure to co-ordinate, facilitate and develop the work of the Network to ensure impact
• Sharing best practice to help raise standards
The group will be established in the autumn of 2010 and will be developing a coaching strategy for the Tees Valley which will be the driving force to enhance the quality and quantity of coaches to lead an increased, sustained participation and improved performance in sport.
A coaching provision gap analysis is currently being undertaken amongst partners who will highlight priority areas for the Tees Valley and will provide a good starting point for the group and coaching strategy.
