Sported
Sported opens its doors in Tees Valley
Support is now available for not-for-profit organisations working with disadvantaged 11-25 years olds using sport for development in Tees Valley.
Sported is looking for projects that use sport to: prevent crime and anti-social behaviour, develop young people's skills for life and the workplace, educate young people on health and wellbeing, build stronger communities, and which are inclusive in giving young people opportunity to engage.
Sported offers a range of services to members (membership is free to organisations meeting the sported. criteria). These services include access to web based resources, information and advice from our online Expert team, Mentor support to develop the business side of your organisation and a small grant scheme of up to £2,000. Organisations who have been through our mentoring scheme can also access a larger grants programme.
Sported is currently open in Tees Valley (including Darlington), East Durham and Tyne and Wear. Services will be opening in the rest of the North East during 2012 We look forward to welcoming new members and volunteers to Sported.
For more information about membership or becoming a volunteer mentor please see our website www.sported.org.uk or contact Sported North East Regional Manager Sandra Hillyard s.hillyard@sported.org.uk
