Billingham Trampoline Club

Billingham Trampoline Club has a strong commitment to the development of it’s coaches as well as it’s performers. As members of the Tees Valley Sport Benefits Package, the club has gained vital support in strengthening its coaching team.

During the past year the coaching team has gone from strength to strength and the club now has a team of more than 20 coaches ranging from Level 1 to Level 5, making it the biggest trampoline club coaching squad in the North East.

Head Coach Jo Emmerson, explained why coach development is so high on the club’s agenda;

“Having a strong team of coaches allows for more training hours – with less sessions being cancelled - and means that performers can benefit more from that coaching. When our coaches are happy and feel like they have the opportunity to develop it also greatly improves morale within the club as a whole.”

“Thanks to the funding provided through the Tees Valley Sport Benefits Package, we have been able to support coaches, show young people that sport can last beyond their school years and increase participation.”

The club are now hoping to develop a disabilities section and are planning to send some coaches on disabilities coaching courses, ran by British Gymnastics, in the very near future.
