Acklam Rugby Club

Acklam Rugby Club is one of 10 local Rugby Union Clubs that have signed up to the Club Benefits Package and they are already accessing a variety of training opportunities guided by RFU Development Manager, Dave Reed.

The club have been really proactive in recent years in encouraging more young people to take up the sport and see the funding support through the Club Benefits Package as an ideal way to further increase their capacity - providing more playing opportunities for under 8s through to under 17s. The funding is being used to encourage more players and parents to gain RFU coaching qualifications, or gain qualifications around their roles as volunteers at the club.

Dave Reed is extremely positive about the effect the funding will have on clubs;

“I am delighted that so many rugby clubs have signed up to the Club Benefits Package. Accessing this training support is an important step in our plans to make sure that as many clubs as possible gain the RFU Seal of Approval. For Acklam, having this accreditation will have enormous direct benefits for their junior section”.
