Clubs
Why do we support sports clubs?
Tees Valley Sport places clubs and the committed volunteers who develop clubs, at the centre of its work. We value and recognise the importance of sports clubs in our local community and endeavour to support clubs in a variety of ways.
What can sports clubs offer you?
- A healthy lifestyle
- Coaching to improve your skills
- An opportunity to make new friends
- Fun and enjoyment!
Good sports clubs offer a mix of playing, competitive and social activities. They offer a welcoming environment and appeal to all sectors of the local community. Good clubs also understand the needs of their members and are not just about competitive success.
What can we offer sports clubs?
Tees Valley Sport offer a range of benefits packages which can help clubs in a variety of ways. The packages support:
- The achievement of Clubmark and a number of National Governing Body Club Accreditation Schemes. These schemes are necessary to maintain a ‘kite mark’ or quality standards.
- Qualified coaches who cater for the needs of all young people, helping them to develop their skills.
- Personal development opportunities for coaches, officials and volunteers – coaching and officiating awards, mentoring and first aid qualifications.
- Clubs making links with local schools.
Activities to make clubs accessible to the whole community e.g. disabled people, girls and black, minority ethnic communities. - Advice and assistance in making applications for funding.
