Coaches, Leaders and Volunteers

Investing in sport at a grass roots level for all ages and abilities and nurturing talent includes supporting and valuing our coaches, leaders and volunteers. Local sports clubs and groups not only lie at the heart of community sport they are also represented at every step along successful sporting pathways. They provide invaluable opportunities for everyone to participate, play and compete in sport. We are committed to investing in our vibrant, inclusive community sport infrastructure.

We will do this by:

Providing a Club and Coach support service; clubs need investment and assistance and we will provide this through a package of coach education and support.
Hosting an annual Leaders Award Evening. The first awards evening, held in December 2009, brought together 150 dynamic, young volunteers aged 16 - 19 years active in clubs and community groups.
Delivering the Tees Valley Leadership Academy. Led by our School Sport Partnerships and Teesside University, the Academy will bring together the highest achieving leaders from schools and colleges helping them to develop their skills and experiences as they work in their local communities.
